I wanted to do this earlier, but I didn't get the chance. I went out with my fellow food connoisseur and long time friend (scoff) Matt. He's been working around, and he told me the Italian-Asian restaurant, Izzi had a 50% off promotion for the whole of March. And off we went/go/etc.
IZZI – Uptown, PJ
No. 45G & 47G, Jalan SS 21/37
Damansara Utama

Selangor Darul Ehsan
Malaysia

Ambience-wise, really dark, metallic. And just dark. Really dark (hence the studio-esque shots?). Izzi is your typical pizza-pasta-salad eatery, with some Asian cuisine thrown in the mix (things like rice and curry noodles. Go figure). I was actually relluctant. It was only the price discount that was the main selling point for me.
First up is Izzi's Chicken Wings, one of the top starters.
This one was barbequed with original sauce, but things like barbeque sauce and things like that is also available. I could taste the honey used to marinate it, and something "umami", like seaweed or bonito... Something like that. A must try actually.
Next was the Fettcunni Con Funghi, which was Fettucunni in cream sauce with olvies, mushrooms and sun-dried tomatoes.
This is a vegetarian dish, but its pretty creamy, and the sun-dried tomatoes were a nice touch of taste and colour.
Matt ordered the Spicy Italian Sausage Linguine, which was linguine pasta tossed in oil with added seafood. A quirky bit about their menu is that you can a vatierty of toppings, like cheese, chicken or seafood on your pasta or salad (for the extraprice of course).
The thing that really blew my mind was the taste of the lamb sausage (I sampled a bit). Very meaty and flavourful!
For dessert, Desire (does this sound homo-erotic to you?).
Apparently, all the desserts here are prepared by a world famous pastry chef who is also the inhouse dessert chef, whos name I forgot (I remember vaguely his sirname was Lee). Desire is basically a creamy dessert with a crust of carmelized sugar with a spongy chocolate bottom. In the middle it is a cube of raspberry jelly. Reminds me of a minty mousse, really. I think my tastebuds were haywire, because I doubt there was any mint inside. Oh well.
Izzi is definately for the OW (office worker) crowd, with its price and all (before the 50% off), but it was really worth the visit.

Seems like a good deal!
Yup, even the 30 ringgit steak looked harmless after you count in the 50% discount. I wish I knew about the promotion earlier though...
Amutual aquaintance just pointed me this way. Love your photos. You seem very talented at it!
Hiya! Thanks! But I'm actually quite new to the whole scene :)
