24: Brasserle, La Place? / Return of the Fungus *gasp*

Yes I'm still alive here. But don't start the fan-fare. Its only temporary. As SPM looms closer, I suddenly find the time to get out and take some pics.

Todays haunt its La Place.

Specializing in fancy European food, one of my friends decided it would be a good idea to eat here. I wasn't too worried at first. The price for a lunch set seemed reasonable. Needless to say, I was pretty much wrong.

Fine dining has always made me feel stuffy, uncomfortable, shackled even. Fine food in a fine environment usually don't mix well with me. I like the environment. Its the food I can't stand. I'd rather pay RM4.50 for a bowl of noodles than RM19.90++ for a piece of meat smaller than my fist.

Braised lamb shoulder served with red cabbage.

Smaller than my hand.

Sauteéd minced steak German style with caramelised onion.

Again, smaller than my hand

Baked penne pasta in tomato sauce, with mushrooms, cheese and mixed vegetables.

Again... Wait. No. It was bigger than my hand. But it might have been smaller than my hand if it was round instead of oblong.

Its a shame; maybe with a set price of RM19.90++, the restaurant's true taste failed to appear. My wallet suffered today, but I get the feeling if one were to fork out RM100 for a 2 person dish... It could taste good. Who knows?
